Continuous Improvement Manager - Specialty Chemicals

Responsibility Nouryon's Battleground Site primarily produces metal alkyls, sold primarily as co-catalysts to major thermoplastic resins and rubber manufacturers (producers of polyethylene, polypropylene, and EPDM).  The product line is complex with over 30 metal alkyl products (plus formulations) produced at Battleground.  Products are extremely hazardous (pyrophoric, meaning they ignite on contact with air) and are highly reactive with water.  The site also manufactures High Purity Metal Organics (HPMO) for the semi-conductor and LED industries.   Principal accountabilities - Manage the continuous improvement program at the site - Train and coach site management and staff in leading and implementing change - Conduct shop-floor activity analyses, interviews, data gathering and analysis and compile into improvement opportunities and impact - Support the site leadership in improvement project idea generation, projectchartering, action planning and implementation - Lead Brown Belt improvement projects at the site for 30% of time - Coordinate the site Brown and Green Belt improvement projects, ensure the tracking of benefits of local projects and that projects are driven to completion and/or closure - Local contact for Continuous Improvement related initiatives including Lean Six Sigma   Leadership - Confident and experienced in coaching others - Good team player, knows how to build his/her own network - Solid project and stakeholder management experience - Extensive experience in coaching and engaging others; able to impart knowledge to others - Able to lead workshops and working groups - Able to multi-task in high-pressure environments - Excellent communication, presentation and conflict resolution skills on all organizational levels; ability to gain respect and trust through situational leadership and integrity and inspire others to follow and participate in the change process - Risk-friendly and self-directed, able to take a decision quickly within uncertainty - Comfortable in quickly changing environments with steep learning curve - Passionate about change and striving for exceptional performance - Active listener - Highly organized and can keep the "big picture" in mind - Reliable - Customer focused     Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Specific Responsibilities - Understand and help implement the site's Operating Policy, and HSSE goals and objectives. - Support and participate in on-going HSSE improvement activities and committees. - Be aware of potential health, safety, security and environmental impacts in area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs. - Understand and implement any parts of the Battleground Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan that apply to area of responsibility. - Participate in the site's on-going Pollution Prevention Process     Quality Specific Responsibilities - Understand and help implement the site's Quality Policy, Quality goals and objectives, and the Quality Improvement Process (MTQ). - Be fully aware of your specific quality assurance responsibilities. - Be familiar with sitewide document control, internal quality audits, corrective action, non-conforming product and record keeping procedures. - Be sure employees under supervision, if applicable, are aware of and are adequately trained in quality procedures. Job requirements/Candidate profile Job Requirements - 10+ years of relevant work experience (operations, production, maintenance, logistics, (process) engineering, continuous improvement, etc.) - Masters / Bachelor degree (degree related to technical fields most applicable). - Strong analysis and problem-solving skills, able to identify and structure issues, run accurate (also statistical) analyses and synthesize recommendations - Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Lean Six Sigma, TPM - Continuous Improvement Black Belt or Brown Belt certification or be willing to be trained as a Brown Belt (two weeks) and commit to requirements for Brown Belt certification - Well-respected, demonstrates sound judgment under pressure. Able tosupport and coach colleagues - Effective communications skills, from managers to line operators - Good team player, knows how to build his/her own network - Good problem-solving skills, able to identify and structure issues, run accurate (also statistical) analyses and synthesize recommendations - Prior line management or team leader experience; knows how to use the skills and knowledge of the team to design and implement solutions 180005CA

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
