CR Advisor, Community Deer Park Region What's the role? As CR Advisor, Community, Deer Park you will present an opportunity to engage directly with our most critical neighbors and regional/local leaders on the issues that are most important to them and help co-create how our business will serve as a positive force in the communities where Shell lives and works.
Also, you will work alongside CR colleagues at Deer Park Chemicals and other Shell businesses operating in your region to build and improve key relationships with local stakeholders, government and industry partners bringing their insights into business planning; strengthen Shell's brand and reputation by increasing impact, influence, and collaboration with critical stakeholders:
and ensure social and reputational opportunities and risks are assessed, mitigated and/or leveraged at an early stage, and integrated into business plans.
Other accountabilities:
Co-create the site strategy for community alignment on business planning and execution including identifying internal and external channels for sharing and delivery of highly effective communications and community engagement opportunities Storyteller to build trust in Shell as a responsible operator by highlighting/recognizing the Powering Progress pillars in action Social media lead and content generation External community and interest group representative Facilitation of and input to stakeholder consultation and engagement, including site/offsite stakeholder events, hearings or similar Manage feedback mechanism in interest, and grievance resolution support Monitor and update non-technical risks and social impact management and deliver social investment initiatives and advocacy plans for the site Crisis communications, emergency response and Public Information Officer support Enlist involvement/support from all levels, inside and outside organization Interface and coordinate with a wide variety of internal/external groups in an inclusive approach to develop communication strategies Key advisor to site leader and other regional business leaders on political, regulatory, and communication strategy As a Corporate Relations Specialist You will be responsible of the following duties:
Work across businesses, functional areas, and expertise areas Analysis and advice requested by business concentrates on unique topics (guided by scarce precedents) Proactively partner with business leaders, flagging challenges and bringing insights to the table Manage the relation with multiple (groups of) stakeholders on tactical/strategic level and manages opposite interests Work activities have a moderate impact on assigned business area Work within boundaries of organizational strategy, specific policies and strategies and general agreements and has large autonomy in adjusting objectives, policies and plans independently Translate business challenges (immediate and longer term) and ensures application of the right instruments to create solutions.
This approach implies (contribution to) the creation of new approaches Requirements What we need from you You must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in government relations, social performance or communications related role work; local/regional community relations work preferred Bachelor's Degree in Communications or field related is required You must have experience in local community/region and community related issues Extremely strong writing skills and ability to communicate and connect effectively Knowledgeable in Communications plan, campaigns, and development Strong attention to detail Management level experience Strong social media platform skills Ability to see and anticipate issues and quickly address them Ability to listen and influence at all levels Company description As a global energy company operating in a challenging world, we set high standards of performance and ethical behaviors.
